How cheap smartphones will always differ from expensive ones

The time has practically passed when any “cheap smartphone” could be compared with waste products. Today, state employees are quite comfortable to use – in our latest reviews you can find many examples of this. And yet there are things in which cheap smartphones will always lose to expensive ones. Well, or at least differ
Old technology
The most obvious is the use of old technologies. Here, by the way, the moment is very positive – after all, what we see today as new and expensive (frameless, fingerprint scanners on the screen, USB-C and NFC) will cost a penny tomorrow and any state employee will have it.

When Bluetooth appeared, it was built into expensive phones only. Later – in everything. The same thing happened with Wi-Fi, GPS, camera, IPS screens. Over time, state employees got it all.

Another year or two and in all state employees there will be USB-C. But for now, like this.

So now we can hope that in the near future (a year or two) we will see a high-quality smartphone for 7 thousand rubles at the start of sales with NFC and USB-C (in the garbage can with a quad-core Media Library and 1 GB of RAM, this already exists, but not counting ) In the meantime, the flagships will receive some new chips – and this lag will never stop.

Materials
A cheap smartphone is made of cheap materials. There is already a continuity of technology (today state employees have what the flagships had yesterday) does not work. Is it possible that new Gorilla Glass or its analogs will become extremely cheap in the production of smartphones, although I still doubt that people will buy such (glass budget phones) smartphones. It will be broken – to spend money on a new one, and state employees take in order to save.

Honestly, in terms of materials, today’s budget employees I like even more. Yes, once they creaked and backlash, but today a sturdy plastic case with some simple texture on the back surface is much more practical, all of these glass and 3D textures. Actually, the latter do it in the top models because an expensive phone should look expensive – otherwise most buyers cannot convince why it costs so much.

My personal favorite in terms of appearance among state employees this year. Simple and tasteful. Made of plastic. Not easily soiled, does not heat up in heat, does not stick to a hand in a frost. It’s almost impossible to beat.

Appearance
From the previous paragraph follows this one – state employees will always be “discreet”. Fashion will change – various colors and appearance features will either become popular, or go “to rest,” but the boutonnieres will always look boring.

Yes, and there is no point in trying to make the public sector look expensive. After all, the manufacturer is already trying to save.

The size
Surprisingly, it is a fact – large state employees are extremely rare. And all because making a large smartphone cheaper and more reliable at the same time is more difficult (read – more expensive). Yes, and popularity among shovels is still lower. Of course, the average size of the smartphone is gradually increasing – but this will not happen indefinitely (until normal folding models appear, at least).

Typical modern state employee. Not a shovel at all.

Compatibility
You need to be prepared for the fact that some applications (or external devices) may not work on a budget smartphone. This may be due to the lack of any functions (no NFC – no contactless payment or replenishment of the Troika card) and weak hardware (cool 3D games, especially online ones, will either not start or will work very slowly )

Although there is a reverse situation. For example, today there is an unpleasant tendency not to put a 3.5-mm connector in the flagship model. This “rule” is not followed, except perhaps by Samsung (before the release of Note 10) and LG. But even the same Sony, although they put a 3.5 mm in the Xperia 10 Plus, did not add an audio connector to the flagship Xperia 1.

On the left is the Sony Xperia 10 Plus, on the right is the Sony Xperia 1. It’s immediately clear where the flagship model is and where it’s simpler.

I note that at the same time, the presence of a 3.5 mm jack often (almost always) means the built-in FM-receiver.

That is, support for some function may, on the contrary, be with a state employee.

Longevity
Flagship smartphones are sometimes taken not for the sake of some new features, but simply “for growth”. As a rule, the top model remains more or less relevant for year 3 – this also applies to the launch of new games and applications, and speed. Moreover, even 3 years is not the limit – it all depends on how long the manufacturer itself is ready to support the smartphone with updates. I note that the updates are important not some new features (although they too), but, first of all, patches for security holes. Here, however, in the leaders of Apple – the smartphones of this company without any problems remain relevant for 5 years or more.
